A call from Atatürk's own voice. My fellow citizens!
We have accomplished many great things in a short time. The greatest of these works is the Republic of Türkiye, which is based on Turkish heroism and high Turkish culture.
We owe this success to the determined march of the Turkish nation and its valuable army, as one.

But we can never consider what we have done as sufficient. Because we are obliged and determined to do more and greater things. We will raise our country to the level of the most prosperous and most civilized countries in the world. We will provide our nation with the widest means and resources of prosperity. We will raise our national culture above the level of contemporary civilization.

For this reason, we think that the measure of time should not be considered according to the relaxed mentality of past centuries, but according to the speed and movement of our century. We will work harder compared to the past. We will accomplish greater things in less time. I have no doubt that we will be successful in this. Because the character of the Turkish nation is high. The Turkish nation is hardworking. The Turkish nation is intelligent. Because the Turkish nation has known how to overcome difficulties with national unity and solidarity. And because, the torch that the Turkish nation holds in its hand and mind on the path of progress and civilization that it is walking on is positive science. I must also emphasize that a historical characteristic of the Turkish nation, which is a high human society, is to love fine arts and to advance in them. That is why our national ideal is to constantly nurture and develop our nation's high character, tireless diligence, natural intelligence, devotion to science, love of fine arts, and sense of national unity by all means and measures.

This ideal, which suits the Turkish nation very well, will make it successful in fulfilling its civil duty to ensure true peace for all humanity.

Great Turkish Nation, you have heard many of my words promising success in the tasks we have undertaken over the last fifteen years. I am happy that none of these words of mine have been wrong in any way that could shake my nation's confidence in me.

Today, I say with the same belief and certainty that in a short time, the entire civilized world will once again recognize that the Turkish nation, which is advancing towards its national ideal in complete unity, is a great nation.

I have no doubt that the great, but forgotten, civilised characteristic and great civilised ability of the Turkish nation will, with its further development, rise like a new sun on the high horizon of civilisation for the future.

I sincerely wish that you celebrate this great national holiday with greater honor, happiness, peace and prosperity in every ten years that flow into eternity.
