10.Yıl Marşı

While Faruk Nafiz Çamlıbel and Behçet Kemal Çağlar wrote the lyrics of the march, Cemal Reşit Rey composed the work in 1933. The 10th Year March was selected from many compositions and began to be sung on the 10th anniversary of the Republic.

10th Anniversary March

We emerged from every war with an open mind for ten years,
In ten years we have created fifteen million young people of all ages;
First and foremost, the Commander-in-Chief, respected by the entire world;
We have surrounded the Motherland from four sides with iron nets.

We are Turks, our chest is the bronze shield of the Republic,
It is not befitting for a Turk to stop, Turk is ahead, Turk is forward!

We quickly strangle evil and backwardness;
We rise like the sun upon the darkness.
We are Turks, we are the heads superior to all heads;
We existed before history, we exist after history.

Drawing the map of our homeland with our blood,
We relieved the country's years of mourning.
We integrated the fight for independence from every aspect;
The whole world has learned to respect Turkishness.

The new trail we have opened to the nations is an example;
We are a unprivileged, classless, united mass.
We followed the knowledge in our views and the ideal in our path;
