HashTools – A program for calculating and verifying CRC32, MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA384 and SHA512 checksums (hashes).
It works for single files but also for entire directories. It can be run directly from the window or from the system explorer (the application is installed in the system shell and context menu, provided that the appropriate option is selected during installation). The program works fast, which may be one of the most interesting offers of this type.
Add the files or folders you are interested in to the list to calculate a new checksum. From this point on, using the buttons at the bottom of the interface will result in calculating the appropriate checksums for all items in the list. By default the application calculates only selected totals. To compare them with the originals, you must first add information about the base hash to each item; for example, by copying its contents from the website of the manufacturer of the installer of the application you want to check. At this point, it's possible to manually enter or paste the appropriate combination of characters, but there's also an option that lets you copy the hash directly from the clipboard. This is a solution that significantly speeds up daily tasks, especially when dealing with a large number of files.
All calculation results we see on the screen in the program can also be transferred to an external file. It is saved in the SFV format, which is typical for such solutions, but for the convenience of the user there is no similar option for saving the results even in the simplest TXT format (but SFV can be opened independently, for example). Notebook).
