Pixelitor

Pixelitor is a free and open source image editing software that supports layers, image effects, multiple undo etc. It requires Java 7 or higher.

As of 2.1.2, its main strength lies in the more than 70 image filters and color adjustments, some of which are unique to Pixelitor. Some of the gradients can also be found only here.
