Microsoft plans to take away the leadership of the popular Google Earth software with the advanced Virtual Earth 3D service that replaces the Live Local two-dimensional map service. The software giant Microsoft took an important step in the virtual map race, which includes leading Internet companies, and introduced its Virtual Earth 3D service. The service, which allows its users to navigate through the three-dimensional models of the cities, operates on the Web browser, unlike a similar service, Google Earth. Virtual Earth 3D brings many innovations compared to Google Earth as a three-dimensional map service. Apart from working directly on the Web browser, another feature of Virtual Earth 3D is photorealism. A special application developed for this service by Microsoft combines aerial and aerial photographs taken by private cameras, creating a more realistic three-dimensional model of cities. On Google Earth's three-dimensional maps, buildings are represented by gray boxes? Virtual Earth 3D combines photorealistic city models with live traffic reports. In models, the current traffic density in the city is reported with color codes. Virtual Earth 3D contains all the features of the Live Local service and works in parallel with the Live Search search service. Microsoft will organize virtual advertising application in city models with Virtual Earth 3D. Firms will be able to advertise in various parts of the city models through virtual advertisement signs.
