uBlock Origin is a free and open source browser add-on that can run on different browsers, content filtering and ad blocking. It can be used in versions of Chrome, Chromium, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Pale Moon and Safari older than 13. This link can be used for chrome. You can find other links on our site.
Flexible, more than an "ad blocker": Domain names can read and create filters from your files.
The following filter lists are preinstalled and applied:
- EasyList
- Peter Lowe's ad server list
- EasyPrivacy
- Harmful domain names
There are more lists you can choose if you want:
- Fanboy's Advanced Audience List
- Dan Pollock's domain names file
- hpHosts's Advertising and tracking servers
- MVPS HOSTS
- Spam404
- and many more
Of course, the more filters are enabled, the higher the memory usage. But, even after adding Fanboy's two extra lists, hpHosts' ad and tracking servers, uBlock uses less memory than other hugely popular blockers.
Also, keep in mind that selecting some extra lists can increase the likelihood of websites getting corrupted - especially those lists that are normally used as domain names files.
