ThrottleStop

ThrottleStop is a small application designed to monitor and fix the three main types of CPU throttling used in many laptops.

On the left side of ThrottleStop are various options that can be used to bypass CPU throttling, and on the right side there is a Monitor panel that shows the current status of each thread on your CPU.

Some laptops use clock modulation and multiplier throttling to reduce your computer's performance and power consumption. This is done on purpose, either to keep your computer running cooler or to allow your laptop to run on a power adapter that isn't enough to fully power your laptop and charge its battery at the same time.

When using ThrottleStop, it is highly recommended that you monitor the power consumption at the wall with a Kill-a-Watt meter or similar device and ensure that you do not exceed the power capacity of your power adapter. Using ThrottleStop to bypass these throttle patterns is at your own risk and may cause permanent damage to your power adapter or computer, or both, which is not covered by your warranty.
