The golden age of Dragon Ball fighting games was in the time of 16-bit consoles, and they haven't had the same feat as they switched to 3D on more modern consoles. However, Hyper Dragon Ball Z was designed for those who were nostalgic for that period. Unlike other fan-designed free games, this game doesn't borrow its graphics from commercial video games. Instead, the game's creators recreated the graphics from scratch to make them look like the acclaimed graphics of games like the '90s Capcom. The game was developed using the MUGEN engine and is constantly updated.
