Boot times are often getting worse as the operating system gets older, especially if you’re the kind of guy that likes to install any application just to give it a try. Unfortunately, there’s no solution to get a faster booting system unless you’re ready to jump into some geek stuff and do it all by yourself. Removing apps from the startup, cleaning up the system, removing temporary files and many other steps that are sometimes a real nightmare. BootVis on the other hand comes to make all things easier. It is developed by Microsoft, so it can integrate quite perfect into Windows which, in other words, means it could work without a glitch. The bad news is that it works only with Windows XP. Yeah, we know, that’s truly sad news, but hey, it’s an old software for an old operating system. The Redmond-based software giant claims all its newer operating systems are supposed to boot faster, so a tool like BootVis would be useless. Since it’s designed to be simple, BootVis has quite a clean interface, adopting the same now popular Microsoft style. Classy look, with functions displayed right in the main window and providing you the required information within a single click. Something you’d expect from Microsoft but, at the same time, something very useful and handy. Functionality is great, as our test has proved that BootVis can significantly increase boot speeds every time you use it. We’re aware however of many users who have encountered all kinds of problems when trying to use BootVis, especially when trying to optimize the system for faster boot time. Unfortunately, nobody can actually guarantee that BootVis will be efficient but, since it’s free, why not giving it a try to see what it’s up to. The conclusion? If you’re still using Windows XP and you go insane every time you wait in front of your computer for the operating system to boot, you must give it a try. Otherwise, if everything works the way it should, why trying to change things up?
