Blindfold

BLINDFOLD includes a Test and a Game.  The aim is to improve the speed of comprehension and expand the capacity of working memory.  These two parameters are of great importance both for school progress and for success in chess.  From the point of view of chess, this program aims to diagnose and train the chess player's intellectual faculties called calculus and visualization of variations (see article What is calculus of variations?).

  The aim of the test is to reveal to what extent your chess working memory has developed.  That is, how successful one can be in following the numerous chessboard situations that replace each other during the kaleidoscopic counting of variations.  The accuracy of the visualization of the positions of the pieces and the movements in the course of the imaginary game determines the degree of correctness of the player's positional evaluation and, consequently, of his decisions.  You can find information about the practical benefits that can be obtained from test results and how to use them to improve your chess skills in the article Blindfolded: Interpreting Test Results.
